the landscape design process generally takes 2 to 6 weeks. first we meet with you, our client, to interview you about goals for the garden, and analyze the space. the design starts with rough, hand-drawn concepts, progresses through an array of preliminary garden design concepts during which we also discuss budget to help direct design decisions, and culminates in the final design (which includes hardscape, planting, lighting, irrigation and site detail plans).
sometimes your landscape design go through an approvals process :
- the condo or co-op board (and its building manager, reviewing architect, and engineer);
if in a historic district it may head to landmarks preservation commission (lpc) for review;
should there are any permanent changes, such as a pergola attached to a roof's structural deck, or an awning attached to a building's wall then it will head to the department of buildings (dob) for approval and a permit.
the length of this process varies according to the board, how busy the lpc and dob are, and how complex the project is.
we handle all aspects of your landscape's installation, from hardscape elements like stonework, through planting, installation of lighting & irrigation and more. we project manage all trades involved in the garden's creation.
let's make a garden!
